2021. Invited lecturer for "Quantitative methods in community ecology" course (undergrad, graduate students, and professors), coordinated by Dr. Arleu Viana-Junior, offered by PPGBE from Museu Paraense Emilio Goeldi, Brazil. Also participated as lecturers Fernanda Costa, Rony Almeida, and Leonardo Trevelin. I taught beta diversity concepts (theory), and practice using R. |
2020. Lecturer for master students of Universidad Libre (Unilibre), seccional Barranquilla, Colombia. Course: Systematic review and meta-analysis. 24 credit hours. |

2009. Assistantship in the course "Ecology field work" in the cloud forest of Itacolomi State Park coordinated by the Professor Servio Ribeiro, with the invited climber Luiz Rocha (photo). Promoted by Federal University of Ouro Preto. |
Mentoring
2018. I received two undergraduate students from Universidad Veracruzana Ashlee García and Agustín García who helped me with sorting and mounting the sampled material from my PhD project. They made their first steps in entomology, specifically ants, and also learned the techniques to mount ants. They also participated in the data paper we developed in Dáttilo's lab. |
Meetings, Workshops, Public outreach, and others
2021. Workshop "Choosing the suitable sampling method to collect insects: from the canopy to aquatic environments", in Neotropical Ecology Meeting, Brazil (August, 2-6). |
2020. Speech (in Spanish) entitled "Una visión general de las técnicas de muestreo de artrópodos en el dosel" ("An overview of canopy arthropod sampling techniques") for Alianza Natural Colombia. |

2018. Keynote speech (in Spanish) ¿La organización de las interacciones es un reflejo de los patrones de diversidad a nivel de comunidades? ("Is the organization of interactions a reflection of diversity patterns at the community level?") in XIII Coloquio Estudiantil INECOL “Biodiversidad: Índices, Patrones y Aplicaciones”, Instituto de Ecología A.C. (INECOL), Mexico. |
2018. Promotion of scientific and technological career for children and the young ("Fomento INECOL"). For a few days we received Aimée and developed an investigation in our laboratory.
The work was developed with some other Dáttilo's lab members (we are a team!): Diana Ahuatzin, Edgar Chávez, Juan Morales, Pedro Luna, the principal investigator, Wesley Dáttilo, and I invited Fabrício Villalobos to participate in this project too.

2018. The biologist Antonio Fernández graduated from Universidad Veracruzana is a fungus lover, but he accepted to support me in my PhD fieldwork. Hence, I taught him some ant sample techniques and fieldwork skills. He also supported me in the lab, sorting and mounting material and revealed to be very talented in this art. He is also in the photo in the top of this page. |
2017. Promotion of scientific and technological career for children and young ("Fomento INECOL"). For a few days we received Emiliano and developed a investigation in our laboratory.
In this edition, the project was leaded by Wesley Dáttilo with the support of other lab members (Diana Ahuatzin, Edgar Chávez, Erick Corro, Juan Morales), besides two visiting PhD students from Brazil (Patrícia Miranda and Arleu Viana Jr.).

2010-2016. I used to be a high school teacher and worked in several schools (public and private) in some cities of Minas Gerais, Brazil. I think this was a very important step in my career because it helped me to develop skills in communication and oral presentation. Besides, it was a very grateful experience! |
